Making family-friendly taco casserole is so easy!
Step 1: Add tater tots to a greased casserole dish.
Step 2. Brown the ground beef and drain. Then mix in taco seasoning, water and salsa.
Step 3: Remove half of the tots in the pan leaving a single layer and top with meat.
Step 4: Top with half of the cheese. Then layer with the remaining tots and cheese.
Step 5: Bake at 425 until cheese is bubbly and tots are cooked through.
Hint: using lean ground beef keeps the dish more balanced. If you are using regular ground meat, drain and rinse it before adding to the casserole dish.

- 13x9 baking dish
- frying pan

Ingredients
- 32 oz frozen tater tots gluten free
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 oz taco seasoning gluten free
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 cups shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425.
- Lightly spray baking dish with non-stick spray and add all the tater tots to the pan. Bake for ten minutes before removing from the oven and setting aside.
- Meanwhile, brown your ground beef over medium heat and drain the fat.
- Add in taco seasoning, ⅓ cup water and 1 cup of salsa, mixing until well combined.
- Remove half the tots from the pan, leaving one row to cover the bottom of the pan.
- Top the tots with the meat mixture, followed by half of the cheese.
- Add the rest of the tots to the top and top with the remaining cup of cheese.
- Cook for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and tots are cooked through.
