This gluten-free apple cobbler in a mug recipe is ready in less than 5 minutes and is naturally grain free, vegan, and made without added sugar.

🥘 Ingredients for Gluten-Free Apple Cobbler in a Mug

This delicious gluten free apple crumble in a mug recipe contains only 6 ingredients that you likely already have at home.

Filling:

  • 1 large apple, peeled + diced
  • 1 teaspoon sugar substitute that measures like sugar (I like Swerve) or coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Crumble topping:

  • 1 tablespoon almond flour. My favorite almond flour is Anthony's, and you can find it on Amazon here.
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ teaspoon sugar substitute that measures like sugar (I like Swerve) or coconut sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch salt

You’ll whip this all up in your favorite microwavable mug!

📋 How to Make Gluten-Free Apple Crumble in a Mug

Step 1:

Peel and dice your apple and drop it right into your mug.

Step 2:

Mix the apples with the sugar substitute, lemon juice, and cinnamon.

Step 3:

In a small dish, mix together the almond flour, unsweetened applesauce, sugar substitute, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. 

Sprinkle this mixture on top of the apples in the mug.

Step 4:

Microwave your apple crumble for 1 to 1 ½ minutes

(microwave times may vary depending on the power of your microwave).

Step 5:

Enjoy your delicious (and guilt-free dessert)!

📖 Substitutions and Variations

There are a couple of ways you can modify this recipe to suit your dietary preferences or the ingredients you have on hand.

  • 🌾 Use oats - simply add half a tablespoon of gluten-free oats into the topping mixture
  • 🥜 Nut free- to make this nut-free, sub the almond flour with oat flour or all purpose gluten-free flour.

    As a recently diagnosed coeliac, your recipes are a great help. I feel like I need more ideas as I find myself eating mostly rice and veggies these days and not much else. This cobbler looks like a simple yet tasty dessert. Thanks for sharing!

    Made these with the roughly 2 granny Smiths that a friend gave me so I added about 1/4 to 1/2 more of everything except salt. Sooo yummy!! I also don't have any sugar substitutes so I just used brown sugar. Perfect for when it's too hot to bake like lately!

      Perfect! So happy you like it! I usually use coconut sugar in this instead of a sugar substitute. It's similar to brown sugar. 🙂
