Can I use a Different Protein?
You can totally try this recipe with a different protein powder, but you will likely need to add more: pumpkin, sweetener, and spices to boost the flavor.
Is Pumpkin Keto Friendly?
There is quite a debate about whether pumpkin and other squashes fit on a keto diet. Squashes are higher on the glycemic index—but still relatively low in carbs. This recipe only uses 1 tablespoon of pumpkin which is the equivalent of around 1 carb.
Pumpkin also contains a good amount of fiber and an array of vitamins making it a very nutritious choice for making low carb sweet treats such as these Low Carb Pumpkin Spice Cookies.
Ingredients for Low Carb Pumpkin Spice Frappucchino
This pumpkin spice frappe made with just a few simple ingredients and are super speedy to whip up!
With the exception of the Keto Chow most of these ingredients can be found at the grocery store—but I prefer to buy my Monkfruit Sweetener at Thrive Market.
To make this protein pumpkin spice frappe you’ll need:
- 1 scoop/packet of Pumpkin Caramel Keto Chow
- 1 strong cup of coffee (frozen into ice cubes)
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon Lakanto monk fruit sweetener*
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ¼- ½ cup water (depending on desired thickness—more water will make a runnier frappe)
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
*You could sub in your gluten-free sweetener of choice
Tools Needed for Low Carb Pumpkin Spice Frappucchino
You’ll need a blender and an ice cube tray.
The blender can make or break this recipe. A low-quality blender may not have the power to chop through the coffee ice cubes resulting in leaving large lumps of ice in your frappe.
However, this does not mean you need to spend a fortune on a kitchen appliance!
I personally use a Ninja, but there are a number of highly rated blenders on Amazon that are totally a reasonable price!
How to make a Low Carb Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino with Keto Chow
Step 1: Freeze 1 cup of strong brewed coffee in ice cube trays
- Tip: I often just freeze the coffee that’s leftover in the pot into ice cube trays for making frappes—then I have it ready whenever I want to make one!
- Alternatively, you could also use ice cubes and add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee to the shake. Just be sure that the instant coffee doesn't have any added ingredients and, preferably, a gluten-free claim.
Step 2: Add all ingredients to your blender and BLEND until it’s the desired consistency
- Tip: Start with ¼ cup of water. If it’s too thick, add more water until it blends easily or reaches your desired consistency.
- Not slushy enough for you? Throw in a couple more ice cubes and blend again (or pulse!)
Finally, top it with delicious sugar-free or keto whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon!

Do you have to put coffee in it? I do not drink coffee never acquired a taste for it.
thehelpfulgf
Coffee is what gives it that coffeeshop Frappuccino taste, but if you don't like the taste of coffee you can always sub almond milk (or even water) and have a delicious pumpkin spice flavored shake. 🙂
